I started teaching in 2012 after graduating with a First-class honour’s degree in Primary Education. I gained much experience working as a full-time teacher and met some incredible teachers along the way. I began teaching in Year 5 then went onto teach Year 2. I also worked as an accelerated learner teacher for one year and provided class cover in all classes where needed. I learnt so much from the leaders within the school that I worked at and was (lucky) to go through a full Ofsted inspection and be part of an Outstanding school.

As time went on, I decided that I wanted to grow my family so in 2015, I fell pregnant with my youngest daughter, Arabella. For me, being the best mum to my children and being the best teacher to my students was impossible. Teaching is not a normal 9-5pm job. Teachers work tirelessly around the clock from day to day, at weekends and (yes!) in school holidays too! Therefore, I decided to reduce my days and work part- time. Whilst doing this, I began tutoring some children from the school I worked in, and before I knew it, this had grown tremendously and was becoming a full-time job. I made the decision to leave teaching in 2019. I love tutoring, and I feel incredibly fortunate that I was able to take this leap. Teaching children is one of the most rewarding jobs and it is a real pleasure to see children progressing academically whilst growing into mature adults. I now hold 5 years’ experience tutoring children from reception all the way to year 6. I have tutored many children for SATS preparation, Year 1 phonics screening and 11+ entrance exams. They all got outstanding results and I’m so proud of every one of them.
